Joining The Miners and Smithers of RuneScape

Welcome, and thanks for your interest in MaSoRS. :runepick: This thread will give you some simple step by step instructions on joining the clan. If you have any questions about the process at all, then just reply to this topic and someone will be able to help you out.

Basic Information

1.) Why should I join MaSoRS? - This is a question best answered by our recruitment topic, which can be found here.

2.) What are the requirements to join? - MaSoRS has only a few basic requirements - either at least 60 Mining and 50 Smithing, or level 85 in either Mining or Smithing, along with general decency and kindness in behaviour. We have no mandatory contributions, and no other levels, including combat, are required. The only requirements for continued membership are following the rules and responding to occasional activity checks; that doesn't, however, mean that you will be removed from the clan if you have to leave for a while and intend to return, of course.

3.) Do I have to join the forums to join MaSoRS? - It is not required. That being said, joining our forums does bring a number of advantages. Our forums are where events, competitions, information etc. are posted, so joining makes it far easier to stay up to date and get involved. Members who join our forums are given the rank of corporal  KJ4oT7C.png , whilst those that don't are given the rank of recruit. iwicQzR.png If you wish to join the forums, please read on. If not, then simply join our clan chat 'MaSoRS' (details below), and ask a moderator (represented by a 'key' or 'star' symbol) about joining the clan in-game, but not on the forums.

4.) I wish to join, but my clan has a 'no multiclanning rule'? - No problem. Simply state that you wish to become an 'associate' in your application post. You will still be able to take part in the MaSoRS community, but you will not be considered a full member. Associates must still meet our requirements, however.

5.) I was a member, but my forum accounts been deleted? - Your account may have been removed in an activity check. Simply post up a new application and you'll be a member again in no time.

Becoming a Member

6.) Register an account - Firstly, you will need to register an account in order to post on our forums. This is a really easy process. Simply click on the 'Register' link in the top right of the forums, and fill out the required information. When you're done, hit 'Register' and log in to the forums using the username and password you chose. We do not require you to validate your email address.

7.) Read the MaSoRS Rules - It's really important that you read the rules in full. They can be found stickied in the applying forum, or by clicking here.

8.) Make a short application post - To make an application post, just hit the 'Start New Topic' button. The topic title should be something along the lines of 'Application', but it doesn't really matter much.

Please include the following information in your post;

RS Name:

Mining Level:

Smithing Level:

Any other details are fine, but not necessary.

9.) Get validated - MaSoRS uses in-game validation, which simply means a MaSoRS moderator will have to speak to you on the RuneScape account you registered with to ensure that it's actually yours. We try to do this as quickly as possible, but theres a few ways of speeding it up;

  • Keep your private chat set to 'on' - this will allow a MaSoRS moderator to PM you ingame.
  • Join our ingame Clan Chat 'MaSoRS' (details below) and ask a moderator (represented by a 'star' or 'key' symbol) about getting validated, they will be more than happy to help out. If there are no moderators present, feel free to hang out in the chat and get to know our members whilst waiting for one.
  • Join our IRC channel #masors_validation on the SwiftIRC network and ask an op (represented by a @ or star symbol) about getting validated. If you don't currently have a IRC client or are not familiar with the software, then clicking here will allow you to access our IRC channel via a simple online widget.
  • Add a MaSoRS moderator, and shoot them a PM about getting validated if you see them online. You are free to contact any moderator, but the best idea would be to add a leader. The current leaders are Dragon91677, wildman18dew and MilkN2Sugars .

If your a F2P player, you may be asked to quickchat your Mining and Smithing levels to check that you meet our requirements, since they will not show up on the highscores.

9.) And you're done! - Welcome to The Miners and Smithers of RuneScape! You may have to wait a short while after being validated before you can view our full forums. When you can view them, it is recommended that you take a look at the 'Welcome Wagon' forum to view some helpful information on the clan. Now that you're a member, you'll also be able to join MaSoRS in-game. Read below for details.

Once again, welcome, and I hope to see you around soon. :runepick:

Tommy, and the Leaders of MaSoRS.

Joining MaSoRS In-Game

MaSoRS makes use of the ingame clan support system. To view our clan homepage, click here. If you would like to join MaSoRS ingame, simply ask a Leader, Senior Member or Advisory Councillor in our clan chat. You will need to meet up with a MaSoRS mod to join the clan. Once you do so, you will join our clan chat automatically, be able to help out at our clan citadel, be able to claim a clan cloak and clan vexillum and more!
