1) When MaSoRS was founded in 2003, what were the other active and biggest skilling communities/clans/services/businesses, etc.? It was mostly combat required clans that were all about pking and if you couldnt keep up you were gone. MaSoRs greatly helped change that. 2) The drop parties attracted many people. Would it be ok to say that it was primarily these drop parties that caused the clan to grow over time? I believe it helped grow it for short periods of time. You would have people join to see if they could get more free stuff or try to mooch. Those people fell thru quickly. We did gain some valuable members from it but that was only part of the plan. 3) Did the creation of Mining Golds in 2009 affect MaSoRS at all? I am asking this because Mining Golds instantly became the most well-known Mining community. Who? never heard of them. 4) Has the MaSoRS clan always revolved entirely around Mining and Smithing or has there been a shift in focus in the course of the last 5-7 years? And if there has been a shift, why? We orignally were mining and smithing based, we eventually came out with our own Pk group H2O (Hard 2 own) for life baby! But yes as most of our senior members have reached their goals of mining years ago it has become a push to help each other gain levels in everything. 5) I seem to have the impression from the history page on this website that MaSoRS might have been the biggest skilling clan of RSC and early RS2. Do you think that is correct or not? If not, what other clans were as big or even bigger? as far as RS2 I dont know we were pretty big and had a pretty good following I believe. I started shortly after RSC so I do not remember it all that well. 6) On what is the clan's focus today? I can imagine that the release of the new high-level Mining content since 2009 (LRC, Elf City) might have been bad for MaSoRS. I really couldn't tell you our main focus today. Everyone has their own goals and we just kind of help each other along with it. 7) Is there anything else you want me to mention about MaSoRS (that is relevant)? Just that MaSoRs has helped many of people through the community whether or not they remember us. From protecting people at Hobgoblins mine in wilderness to giving them some ores or gear. 8) Would it be ok if I used one of the screenshots (on this clan's history webpage) in my e-book? What is your most valued generous moment you have done for someone else? Mine was when I was just starting my goal to 85 mining and was in the dwarvern mines. Some level 14 character was mining coal with a bronze pickaxe because they couldn't afford rune at the moment. I was power mining iron and got a rock giant. I killed the rock giant and got a rune pickaxe. I asked her what mining level she was and she replied 38. I told her to take over the iron and get 40 and I would give her the pickaxe. She got 40 mining in like half an hour and I gave her the pickaxe. She was so excited and thanked me so much. Felt good to do.

I love mining because it's where I made my first 100k. I was hired on to mine 1k iron ore at the time I thought the guy was a sucker for paying me 100k for iron ore. I love smithing because when I was low level I could mine and smith my own gear. Never having to buy any. I also was able to help out lower levels who needed gear.
